Why Book Early?

At the time of writing, our last three shows at just one venue sold out 4 weeks, 2 weeks and 3 weeks in advance.

And people call us and message us on the night of the show asking things like:

  • Do you have any tickets left?
  • Can I buy at the door?
  • Don’t you keep spare tickets for the night of the show?

And unfortunately for them, the answer is no.

DO OUR SHOWS REALLY SELL OUT?

Yes, they do. Our first two shows were in 2015 and they sold out early.  We were turning away dozens of people at the door.

Since then, most of our shows have sold out.  Like everyone else, COVID stuffed us around a bit, but in 2022 we are already back to most of our shows being sell-outs.

As I was typing this, I wondered what would happen if I typed ‘sold out comedy’ into Google (I use the Australian version, google.com.au).  So I tried it and our shows have SIX of the front page listings on Google for ‘sold out comedy’!  Check it out…

Sydney Comedy Shows

WHY DO OUR SHOWS CONSISTENTLY SELL OUT?

It’s a combination of things.  Among many other things, we:

  • Produce popular shows that people really enjoy (and then tell their friends and bring them to the next show).
  • Only book experienced, professional comedians (with very rare exceptions if we find a very, very good newcomer).
  • Have over 30 years experience in customer service (including with several of the world’s top luxury brands).
  • Have over 20 years experience in event management.
  • Pay comedians well, so good comedians want to do more shows with us.
  • Choose excellent venues to host our shows.

DON’T YOU KEEP TICKETS UP YOUR SLEEVE?

We are aware that some comedy promoters may keep 10 or 20% of their tickets from sale, to sell at the door on the night of the show.

We don’t do that because:

1. Most of our shows sell out. Genuinely.  All tickets.

If people want to buy tickets now, we aren’t going to say ‘wait until the night of the show’.

2. We Want to Help Our Venues Give You a Better Experience

Many of our venues are pubs and clubs that have dinner and drinks available.  It helps them to know as early as possible how many people are coming, so they can book the right number of staff, prepare the kitchen orders for the likely number of meals, etc.

It increases the likelihood of us giving you a completely good night out – not just great comedy, but enough staff to serve you drinks, the kitchen having a better chance that your first choice of dinner is available, etc.

So we’d rather be able to tell the venue final booking numbers a week or more in advance, instead of hoping that the last 20% of the comedy audience turns up to buy tickets on the night.

So, regardless of what other comedy rooms choose to do, we are committed to putting on a good show that is likely to sell out early.

SO, BOOK EARLY!

We hope that all makes sense, and we hope you can join us for one of our popular comedy shows.

All we ask is that you book early, to avoid missing out!
