Since we started our shows in 2015, we have had great female comedians as part of our line-up.
OUR GENDER MIX OF COMEDIANS
Depending on availability and rostering commitments, generally 30-60% of our shows’ line-ups are female comedians. On the multiple occasions where our lineups have been 60% women, no one from the audience has commented on the composition of the line-up or how many women were on stage – just that the show was great and they had an awesome time! We’re so glad to be part of making this the new normal in comedy.
FUNNY & SUCCESFUL
As well as being popular performers in our shows, our female comedians also frequently MC our shows – keeping the audience energised between acts.
Most have written and performed their own solo shows (usually an hour or more of solid comedy). Two performed solo shows that were nominated for ‘Best Comedy’ at the Sydney Fringe Festival.
Several have performed overseas, including popular comedy clubs in New York, London and at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Most of them have performed on Comedy Cruises.
AUDIENCES LOVE THE MIX
Consistently some of the best audience feedback we get from our shows is specifically for the women performing in our shows.
Our audiences are consistently more than 50% women so it makes even more sense that the happy coincidence :) of gender diversity in our line-ups seems to add to our shows’ popularity!
